Friday December 30

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great vacation. The video posts will be returning on Friday January 6, 2012 (I can't believe its already January)! For now I just wanted to get the following information out to you:

-Extra Credit project has been posted to Schoology, it is due Tuesday, students may drop it off in my room before school if they wish
-we are starting our unit on Ancient Egypt this week, encourage your student to be on the lookout for related programs and websites, the History Channel always does a nice job of showing some interesting documentaries around this time
-If progress reports were not up to par please encourage your student to come for extra help, even if its just for "study tips" we will be starting flashcards this coming week

Cool things I found this week:
-A jeopardy question on Wednesday related to Ancient Sumer...did your student see it?
-Netflix has a documentary on the Cave Paintings in France which we studied, and Pompeii, which we went on a field trip to learn more about...if you have a subscription this would be a great activity to do with your child to keep up to date with what's going on in class

As always feel free to send me an email with any questions.

I hope everyone has a happy, healthy New Year and I look forward to getting back into the classroom next week!

-Ms. Miller

Friday December 16

Hi All,

Sorry for those that looked for a video and didn't see it- I'm having some technical problems but am hoping to have the video up for Monday, so it looks like they'll be two videos this coming week.

Remember to send in progress reports signed.

Thanks!

Welcome

Welcome to Friday Chats with Ms. Miller! My goal for this page is to streamline information for you and your student. I plan to post a new video each Friday that will summarize what we did in class that week and preview what we are going to do the next. I am hoping to open up my classroom in this way to you so that you can feel engaged and part of 7th grade history.

This is a new project for me and I have never done something like this, so please bear with me while I learn the ropes... I'm sure my first several chats will be works in progress.

If there is any information you would like me to start including please feel free to contact me and let me know!

Happy weekend,
Ms. Miller
